We are very happy to announce that Ares Studios received 501(c)(3) status!  Ares Studios, Inc. is the not-for-profit corporation created to house the sets created by Axanar Productions in 2016.

This means that all of your Patreon and other donations are 100% tax-deductible.

Ares Studios houses the sets and makes them available to film makers.  This is its only job.  The Patreon campaign is the primary funding mechanism for Ares Studios.

Ares Studios operates separately from Axanar Productions, which is the entity that is making the next two episodes of Axanar. The best way to think of that, is when JJ’s Star Trek movies filmed at Paramount Studios, Paramount was the studio, and Bad Robot was the production company.  The same applies here.

The difference is that Ares Studios operates as a not-for-profit corporation with an educational mission, as we work with student film makers from Gwinnett county, here in Atlanta, to make our sets available for students to film on.  And any Star Trek fan film is always welcome to use our sets.

Ares Studios is also separate from Ares Productions, which handles all sales from the Ares Studios Store and pays any shortfall in expenses of Ares Studios, as the Patreon campaign is usually about $1,000 short of total monthly expenses.
